De La Salle College hurlers visit St. Kieran's College, Kilkenny

De La Salle Students enjoy trip to Marble City


A group of Year 10/11 student from De La Salle College, Belfast experienced a very enjoyable educational, cultural and sporting exchange visit to St Kieran's College, Kilkenny.

The popular bi –annual exchange has been ongoing since 1995. During the action packed weekend in sun drenched Kilkenny, the La Salle boys participated in an indoor Bata Beag tournament, played two very competitive challenge games against their hosts St Kieran's, participated in quality coaching and question and answer sessions conducted by All-Ireland winning Kilkenny stars, Michael Rice and Willie O'Dwyer.

During the weekend some of the boys also met many Kilkenny stars such as Martin Comerford, Eoin Larkin, Jackie Tyrell and manager Brian Cody and Johnnie’s duo, Jude McCurdy and Ronan Carroll were hosted by Tommy Walsh and his family.

The Edenmore boys participated in other activities such as an Historical walking tour of Kilkenny City and Castle, Ten Pin bowling, Swimming, Shopping and the majority of them also experienced living in a rural environment.

De La Salle College would like to take this opportunity to thank the South Antrim Executive for their generosity in helping offset the costs of the trip.
