Thank you to everyone who supported the charity cycle for Suicide Awareness, particularly staff and students at St. Patrick's who helped behind the scenes.
Dashing to the train from BT Tower on Wednesday 29th June, the cycle began on the 30th with 112 miles covered from Windgap to Galway. A further 92 miles to Sligo, 70 to Omagh and a final 79 to north Belfast saw the finish line being crossed outside the school gates on Sunday 3rd July.
It was a fantastic experience and really reinforced the idea of a vibrant GAA community, with clubs and venues such as Windgap Hurling Club, Nowlan Park, St. Kieran's College (Kilkenny), Knocknacarra & Pearse Stadium (Galway), Milltown (Galway), Charlestown (Mayo) and St. Enda's in Omagh and Glengormley all playing their part.
A special mention must go to Mr. Jimmy Walsh in Windgap who not only put me up/put up with me for the night, but also organised a meeting with the Kilkenny senior hurlers prior to their training for the Leinster Final.
Donations for the PIPS Programmes are still being accepted for anyone who still wishes to do so.
Go Raibh Maith Agaibh!
