MacRory and Nolan Cup news

Wed 18th Jan 2012

Ulster Colleges’ Council last evening confirmed arrangements for three of the four quarter-final games in the BT MacRory Cup.

First teams out are Abbey CBS and St Patrick's Maghera and they will have a floodlit clash on Friday 3rd February in the Morgan Athletic Grounds Armagh with a 7.30pm throw-in.

It was anticipated that there would be a second game that first weekend of February, but the clash of St Patrick’s Academy Dungannon and St Patrick’s Armagh has been deferred until Friday 10th also in Athletic Grounds Armagh at 7.30pm.

The remaining two semi-finals will be the following day, Saturday 11th February with St Colman's Newry and St Mary's CBGS meeting in Casement Park at 11.00am.

However a venue and time still has to be confirmed for the remaining quarter-final between St Michael's Enniskillen and Omagh CBS – a repeat of the pre-Christmas league final that Omagh won comfortably.

Although there are still some outstanding games in the league section of the BT Nolan Cup, the Council announced the quarter-final line-up.

There is a cross-city clash of Aquinas Grammar and last season’s runners-up Edmund Rice College.  Also confirmed is the tie between Loreto Coleraine and St Joseph’s Donaghmore.

However opponents for Colaiste Feriste and Lumen Christi will not be known until the remaining games are played at the end of the month.
