Pictured opposite are the St Patrick’s Maghera side that collected the BT Thompson Cup yesterday for the Ulster Colleges’ Year 8 Blitz.
They defeated hosts St Mary’s Belfast 3-1 to 0-3 in the final with goals from Pauric McNicholl (2) and Joseph Grant. Maghera had defeated St Killian’s College Garron Tower in the semi-final, while St Mary’s needed extra time to see off Cross & Passion Ballycastle.
The BT MacQuillan Shield was won by St Patrick’s Downpatrick coming from 2-1 to 0-3 down at the break to defeat neighbours St Columba’s Portaferry by 4-5 to 3-1.
Top scoring performers for the winners were Daithi Sands and Mark Fisher.
