Ulster Colleges' Yr 8 BT Bro. JM Murphy Cup Winners ('C' Blitz)
Bearnageeha's Year 8 Gaelic footballers defeated north Belfast rivals, Edmund Rice College in the BT sponsored Bro. Murphy Cup Final at Trench House on Saturday June 6th, winning a thrilling 'C' competition which also included St. Patrick's, Lisburn, Corpus Christi College, Aquinas Grammar & Glen Road CBS.
In the final itself, Edmund Rice looked certain to avenge their earlier group stage loss to Bearnageeha, until Patrick Mac Diarmid popped up to score the winning goal in the dying minutes – classic stuff!
There were outstanding performances all over the field with special mentions going to Brendan Morgan in goals, Jonathon Cummings & Donal Walsh in defence, midfielder Conor Largey and Patrick McDiarmid up front. Congratulations to all the lads who created a bit of history by delivering St. Patrick's first title at this age group!
