  1. Mc Aliskey pulled back a point with a fine shot from distance after getting good early ball from his team mates, but this was not followed up on by Dungannon and after some excellent movement and passing Maghera found a free man and he opened the defence and slotted it into the net. , the score now 1-2 Academy to 2-3 Maghera .This must surely have roused Dungannon who started to up their performance and started to dominate midfield, Mc Swiggan in particular winning a lot of break ball and distributing well. The academy again produced a good ball into the full forwards who pressurised and caused a rebound to fall to Morgan who finished excellently. Again Maghera showed how well they can respond to teams as they put over two points, one from play and one from a 45. Some slack marking by the academy could have been punished but a wide was hit, and the half finished: St.Pat’s Dungannon 2-2, St. Pat’s Maghera 2-5, still within the academy’s reach.

This defeat was not all bad though as the pressurising and ball winning ability of the defence was good, with Mc Swiggan showing well as a break ball winner with good attacking skills and Mc Garrity showing good leadership. The midfield is good with a good fielding from both midfielders and good break ball winning from the half backs and forwards. The midfield has good speedy full forward line with an ideal target man in O’Hagan. The rustiness should clear and with some good training I would expect the Academy to improve upon this performance greatly, as they have shown they have a good quality of players in this year’s squad.
