Colaisti Inis Eoghain Launch Fundraising Draw
September 15, 2013
Donegal’s amalgamated Schools side, Colaisti Inis Eoghain recently launched a Fundraising Draw in support of the three teams they will be fielding in Ulster Colleges Competitions during the next School year.
Top prize on offer is two tickets for the Australian Rules International game taking place in Breffni Park on Saturday 19th October, complete with overnight Accomodation in the Errigal House Hotel in Cootehill, other prizes include a €100 Shopping Voucher for Supervalu Carndonagh and Sunday Lunch for 2 people.
Inis Eoghain will compete in Group C of the Corn na nOg Cup, competing against St Colman’s Newry, Abbey CBS and St Pat’s Armagh, while they will also compete in Group B of the Rannafast Cup against Omagh CBS, St Pat’s Armagh, St Colman’s Newry and St Pius Magherafelt.
Inis Eoghain will make new ground this year when they participate for the first time in the McLarnon Cup, where they will come up against St Patrick’s Keady, St Louis Kilkeel and De La Salle Belfast. Most of the players on the McLarnon panel started off in the Corn na nOg side of 2010 and are really looking forward to playing semior schools football in 2013. Several players have already made it through to Donegal U16 and U17 Development squads and a couple also featured on the Donegal Minor side of 2013, with more expected to be selected in 2014.
The GAA in Inisowen received a major boost recently, when Buncrana captured the Donegal Minor Championship for the first time in 13 years, while the only senior club in the Peninsula, Malin qualified for the Senior Championship semi finals for the first time ever when they defeated the holders and competitions favourites, St Eunans of Letterkenny.
