Tue 8th Feb 2011

BT Corn na nÓg semi-final :
Omagh CBS     3-13     St Patrick’s Dungannon            1-10

Omagh CBS came back from 1-5 to 0-1 down after just 13 minutes to comfortably defeat St Patrick’s Dungannon in this BT Corn na nÓg semi-final in Augher yesterday.

Goals in the 20th and 28th minutes from Aidan McSorley turned the game on its head and Omagh actually led by 2-5 to 1-6 at the turn-over.

They pressed home their superiority on the re-start with points from open play from McSorley and from Gavin Slane frees before Patrick O’Neill’s goal put the game out of Dungannon’s reach.

Dungannon had looked the part during the first quarter with a goal from Fintan McClure and some excellent points from Ross Lavery and Eoin Teague.

But they quickly ran out of steam and it is Omagh who will play the winner from this afternoon’s second semi-final between Abbey CBS and St Patrick’s Cavan at Tyholland (2pm).

Omagh : Aidan McSorley 2-4, Patrick O’Neill 1-2, Gavin Slane 0-5, Andrew McGrath 0-1, Tiarnan McNamee 0-1.

St Patrick’s : Fintan McClure 1-0, Ross Lavery 0-3, Eoghan Teague 0-3, Enda McGarrity 0-2, Sean Doran 0-1, Colm Kirkpatrick 0-1.
