Founded in 1932. Gaelic football played in the area towards end of last century; attempts to form club in 1909, 1921 and 1926. Major successes include East Tyrone Junior League in 1936, 1937, 1938, 1946, 1950, 1951, 1952, 1965; JFC in 1938 and 1957; IFC in 1969, 1986; finalists in 1975. Intermediate league 1986, 1995; Reached SFC semi-finals in 1958, 1971, 2001. Intermediate Reserve League and Championship 1992, 1993; Div 1 Reserve League 2001; U21 FC 1983 as Naomh Mhuire; MFL 2001 as Naomh Mhuire; Juv FC 1984 as Naomh Mhuire. Camogie team formed in 1930s and again in 1970s; won senior county championship in 1976. Grounds purchased in 1952, vested in GAA, opened in 1965; extensive development of facilities completed in 1969. Major development of club grounds, changing rooms 1989/90; new training ground opened 1998; new Prunty Pitch opened 2002. Club history published in 1982.
